Marcia A. Goldstick

Marcia Goldstick is a wife, a mother, a professional, and a transplant recipient. During her college years, she served as editor for her college newspaper. She then went on to work as a copywriter for Sears until she became a mother. Later on, Marcia began working in travel and spent the next 31 years as a travel agency manager. Marcia is now retired and enjoys going to the theater, reading, and spending time with her husband, her family, and her friends. She is also an experienced traveler, and has visited every continent except for Antarctica, though she did get to see the icy coast from a ship a few years back.

Marcia has also been a lifelong volunteer, frequently helping out at her children’s schools and getting involved in her local community. She and her husband belong to the Southern Poverty Law Center, a number of animal care groups, veterans support groups, and various charities that help children. She is also a member of the Wellesley Society and the Streeterville Society along with her husband.

Marcia has dedicated herself to raising funds for NMTAC in part because her own life has been greatly impacted by the transplant center at Northwestern Medicine. Marcia received a life-saving transplant at the age of 70, over three years ago now. The team at Northwestern Medicine helped her through a double transplant of the liver and kidney, and Marcia feels extremely grateful for the treatment that she received.

Marcia is a great example to transplant patients, showing them that no matter where they are in their life, bright and happy days and still be ahead. By supporting the fundraising efforts of NMTAC, Marcia hopes to help as many patients as possible receive life-changing and life-saving transplants through Northwestern Medicine’s Comprehensive Transplant Center.

I hope to encourage donations and to help pre- and post-transplant patients know that life can be good again.
