Donor Assistance Fund

Even though an organ recipient’s insurance will cover the medical expenses for a living organ donor, statistics show that the cost of donating a kidney to the donor can range anywhere from $2,000 – $20,000 depending on the circumstances. Expenses may include lost wages, hotel stays, travel, and more. At Transplant Village, we believe that donating an organ is enough. We don’t want any of our organ donors to be affected financially when they make the selfless decision to save another person’s life.
In 2016, a group of 410 living donors from around the world gathered at “The Bean” in Chicago and created a Guinness World Record for the greatest number of living organ donors gathered in one place. The proceeds of the event created our Patient Assistance Fund which is specially funded BY Living donors FOR living donors. Isn’t that beautiful?
